2010 Palmer Reunion July 16 and 17th of July

Everything has been so hecktic lately. I didn’t get an email off to D.J. He has Email me upset very upset. There has been so many demands from everyone. It was Jennifer this and Jennifer that or mom this and mom that. When I got home from Washington State, with Zade and Cameron, Milo said that lightning stuck really close over head and it fried the modem and the power supply to the
Computer. It got the Wii Game. I got this computer, that the trust paid for, but I had to figure out the passwords to my email and gmail. They were saved into the memory of the computer that crashed, but hadn’t written them down. I finally figured them out this morning, without the help of your Dad and Zade. It’s getting harder for me to remember things.
I have them written down in a separate notebook now. I wanted to email D.J. while
we were in Washington but , Zade didn’t try to find an internet connection,
anywhere. Zade didn’t even let me buy a postcard to send to you. Then I remember I forgot to write down D.J.’s address. Every time I turned around, something wasn’t turning out the way I wanted it
to. It upset me so much that I couldn’t contact D.J. I got mad at Zade and it
was all my fault. So I apologized to Zade. I am going to try to write about the 2010 Palmer Reunion that turned out just fine. I hope! Ember showed up the evening of the 13th, on Zade’s
birthday. He’s now 26. I can’t remember but I think Zade went up north to Logan for his birthday. It is now a bit of a blur to me, now. Darn!
Now for the reunion, Jenn Harris, Gerta’s daugther showed up early the 14th, with 3 of her kids. She volenteer two years earlier at the last reunion to be co-person for the next reunion. She worked on the Catering for the Dinner and the food for all the meals she also planned some games. I set up everything else. The rest of her family showed un the next day. I didn’t have the money
to feed them. I just prayed, that everything would work out. Jenn said that she
was coming early to help, but it was more work then I could handle having them sitting around and Jenn took Ember away from helping me. They spent time at the Candle Factory. So I was by myself, getting ready for the reunion. I am mad at myself for getting upset and feeling sorry for myself, I
had too high of expectation from Jenn and Ember, when I shouldn’t have been.
Ember is still not mature enough to handle some of the things that I threw at her do to and Jenn being very much over weight, I could see that she was really stressed and I new I was the only one that could do some of the Jobs. I kinda let loose on Ember when I shouldn’t have done that. It was just out of
frustration on my part. I just had a lot to do before the reunion. My Knees were really hurting! My Feet and legs were hurting and I was dead tired for the Lack of sleep. I feel really bad that I
did that to Ember. I wasn’t thinking straight and I let my emotions get in control
of my feelings. I was really afraid that Ember wouldn’t come back. I gave her some money for gas to help ease her budget. I tried to encouraged her to bring her new Boyfriend, Matt. Now back to the reunion. I was able to obtain a microphone and equipment from Val Smith. Milo started to help just a
couple of hour before the reunion started, when he realized that I was not going to make it by myself. He loaded tables and chairs from the church into the back of Dad’s Truck. I am sure that he didn't want to look bad in the eye's of his family if they felt he was just sitting and not doing anything.
I was cleaning the house for the reunion around Jenns kids who were either playing on the Wii or watching TV. Jenn’s boys did help some. They did take out the trash. Jenn’s, Heidi
vacuumed the living room. Cameron mowed the lawn around the tents that Jenn's family put
up. I was really stressed to the max and I do not want to do it again. The
Palmer Reunion started on the 16th Friday, 1:00 at the Ponderosa
Park. Everyone checked into the Motel that Zade set up at his work, at Eagles
Landing Truck Stop. He got a discount, being the assistant manager, there. The discount
was $35.00 a room for a night. Everyone just visited at first. Ember was great.
She had a craft for everyone to do. It was refrigerator magnets. She used her own money to pay for the
supplies. She did not get reimbursed by anyone, either. Ember really did her part in helping with the reunion. She stayed long enough to give the instruction for the craft project before she left for Lehi and Spanish Fork for a wedding reception. She introduced a couple kids that got engaged and felt that it was important to be at their reception. But this gave an opportunity for Ember to invite her new Boyfriend to come back down for the reunion. After the craft project, Jenn had a catered dinner for everyone. It was really nice.
Thank goodness I had a little money stashed away. It came to $13.00 a plate, 4 plates
for our family. I knew we didn’t have the money in checking. I just couldn't go to Milo and ask him
either. I used my emergency money. It is dwindle ling down. I gave Jenn the money for the
dinner. Then I paid Gerta for the rest of the meals for the reunion. I was really gratefully that Gerta and Susan who offered to help in buy the food for the reunion. I didn’t have any room on any credit card to buy anything. I thanked Gerta and Susan for their help. Zade left early for Jesse Grahams reception in
Greenville. I wanted to go. I saved Zade a plate. After the Dinner, Mr. Condie sang
some of his Western songs. Orval, Gerta and Don, Elaine and Susan really enjoyed it. Orval got up an spoke on his father, Jesse Palmer and Don got up and talked about Jesse Palmer Sr. I thanked
Mr. Condie. Then everyone headed to their rooms at the Motel. Ember showed up
with her new boy friend really late on Friday the 16th or was early Saturday Morning. I wasn't watching the time when she showed up. She slept in his car and kick Cameron out of his tent for her new Boyfriend, Matt to sleep. Cameron got to sleep back in his bed, cause Jenn wasn’t sleeping in his
bed anymore. She went to sleep at the motel with Orval and Gerta. Crazy at 1:00 am. The next morning, I got up at 6:00 am to fix breakfast. Zade planned a hike across the Sky Line Hike, up at Big Johns and
ends above Puffers Lake. Zade and I took a drive a week earlier before the reunion to time the drive up to Big Johns. That drive was the high light of my Summer so far. We went to Big Johns and further up to the
Trail Head and then tried to go further up but the road was still closed. We headed down and stopped at Hamaltons Flat to watch a herd of Elk, up-close. We were in Zade's Jeep. Then we headed home for that Day.
Well after breakfast was over for the family hikers. We left around 7:30 am with me and Cameron out in front driving, showing everyone the way. When I left the house, Zade was still trying to get drivers. I had Checho behind me driving. It took about 45 minutes or so, to get up the Trail Head, at Big Johns. They
took a picture of everyone at the beginning of the hike. Zade was able to get, Teri Dowdle, Milo’s Sister and Stan Hunt. When the Hikers headed up the Mountain we drove around to Puffers Lake to leave a couple of Vehicles and Stan drove us back home. I had a nice visit with Milo's sister when shuffling Vehicles. Teri's really not to bad. She does try hard. I give her that. We left Zade’s Jeep at the turn-off of Big Johns. Stan didn’t want to go back on the road that was next to Puffers Lake. It was too narrow for him, it
made him nervous. I told him about the road that headed up to Big Flat and he
took that road. While some family members were on the Hike, the rest or the family that was left behind had Breakfast and went to the Beaver Old Court House for a tour and then to the Old Tack House for Murdock Academy or Fort Cameron for a small tour there. Remember, it’s the black rock building east of the Beaver Golf Course. We just got back in time for both tours. We then reconvened the Reunion at the Park
behind the Beaver Swimming Pool. When the Hike was over Milo was driving the
Jeep, I think, and it got a Flat tire, it took them a little longer to get home. I guess a rock punctured the centerof the tire.
Ember took her new Boyfriend on the Hike. When they got back Ember went swimming and he laid on the lawn by himself. When I got the opportunity I went over and introduced myself. After a little bit he went swimming.
I think everyone enjoyed the hike that went. I arranged with Sharri the manager of the Beaver Pool, a few months earlier, so that I only had to pay the pool $45.00 for those that wanted to go swimming. I used my emergency money to pay for that, too. It would have cost a lot more. When everyone got back from the Hike they headed for the Pool after eating a lunch that Jenn and Susan's Husband prepared for everyone.
We had a family meeting to decide for the next reunion. Diane Pilmer volunteered
to do the next reunion in two years from now. D.J. will be home by then from his Mission. Milo
took back the chairs and tables to the church that we use for Breakfast, at our
house. We barrowed Grandpa Lindsay’s Truck for a couple of days to haul the chairs and tables. I am glad Milo and Cameron helped with that. We gave back Dad’s truck the next day. I just plane
did not have time to do the Ward Program for that week. Zade informed me that we were leaving on Monday at 5:00 pm, after his work and I had to have everything packed to go, to Washington
State. Those two days were just a blur to me. I had to do some Visiting
Teaching before I left and finish a slideshow for John X. Smith a
great-great-great Grandfather for the Booth that our Smith family was doing for
the 24th of July. The LDS Church bought a big tent to house four booths
for 4 of the Founding Fathers of Beaver, Utah. They formed four Committees with
Family members in-charge of a booth. They called me because I had the most
Genealogy and Pictures. So I started going to the meetings to help do this
booth. I just barely got done with the Slideshow and a Descendent list for a
big chart that they were putting up and turned it all over to Val Smith and his
daughter before we left. That was a real big job to do. I spent hours and
hours. I was really stressed out. I hope it was worth all the work that I put
into it. Val’s Daughter email me and
told me that they were making a CD of all the work that I did. I thinks I am going to tell you about our trip to Washington in another Journal Entry.
This one is getting to be too long.
